JoDate is a dating community for Africans and the African diaspora. We help single adults meet people who share their values, their culture and what they want from love — whether that is a serious relationship, marriage, or simply a good conversation.
1. Why we built JoDate
Africa is home to thousands of communities, languages, traditions and religions. Most dating apps ignore that. On JoDate you can share your tribe or ethnic group, your mother tongue and the traditions you value, and find people from your country, your region or anywhere in the diaspora.
2. What you can do on JoDate
- Create a free profile with photos, your background and what you are looking for
- Browse members, swipe, show interest and match
- Chat safely — a first message is a request the other person must accept
- Verify yourself with a quick selfie or your ID to show you are real
- Send gifts, upgrade to Premium, Boost your profile or buy message credits
- Plan your wedding with our directory of trusted wedding vendors, quotes, checklists and budget tools
3. Safety comes first
Every member must be at least 18. Profiles can be reviewed by our team, members can report and block anyone, and our system watches messages for common scam patterns such as requests for money. Selfie and ID verification help you know who is real. Never send money to someone you have not met.
4. For wedding businesses
Photographers, venues, caterers, planners and other wedding businesses can list themselves for free, receive quote requests from couples, and promote their listing with a paid plan.
